Features
Released by Edradour Distilleries and matured in ex-bourbon casks. Andrew Symington, who took over Edradour distillery called on Iain Henderson, former director of Laphroaig and asked him to create something very special – a very peaty single malt. Made from malted barley with a phenol content of up to 50ppm, which makes it one of the most smokey and peaty malts on the island of Islay.
Ballechin 9yo is the perfect embodiment of the smooth and oily style of this single malt – an absolute must have for peated whisky lovers around the globe.
Nose
Rich, smokey and aromatic.
Taste
Lively, dynamic, smokey, spicy (pepper & nutmeg), slightly chocolaty with a hint of saltiness.
Finish
Long and very well balanced with some peat and smoke of course.
