Kilchoman STR Cask Matured

Distilled in 2012, this Islay single malt whiskey was left to rest in a mixture of 43 hand-selected shaved, toasted and re-charred (STR) red wine casks, a technique that enhances its flavour. In the finished whisky, the taste from both seasoned and virgin oak play well together to deliver a lip smacking finish. Following summer fruit, cinnamon spice, toffee and gentle peat smoke on the nose, the nuanced palate moves from runny caramel to sweet summer berries, a dusting of cinnamon, thick lemon curd, buttery shortbread and maritime peat smoke.
