Michou Osterwald, a well-known South African artist, employs the ancient skill of water gilding to create a very elegant place in your house. She learned the art of water-gilding from one of her best friends – Andreas Crasemann of Hamburg, currently Guildmaster of Hamburg’s Guilder & Restorers Guild. She struck on the idea to guild African bowls sold on the roadside to tourists that visit Southern Africa, and was curious to see how it would work. The result is ever transforming art pieces.
