This small-batch release is the first from Wolfburn to have been matured in one type of cask (first-fill ex-bourbon barrels) then finished in another (six months in port hogsheads). Impeccably smooth, you’ll enjoy the rich vinous port notes along with overtones of toffee, vanilla, and a fruity sweetness. Its well-balanced and simply delicious taste perfectly showcases Wolfburn’s tradition of distilling fine whiskey. A fantastic choice with or after dinner.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Softly boozy red grape richness, followed by honeyed barley and flaked almonds.
Taste
Floral barley with a touch of vanilla blossom, shortly followed by strawberries and cream with a touch of brown sugar on top.
Finish
Subtly chocolatey, with a touch of cinnamon.
