The sixth in Wolfburn’s small-batch series, Batch 318 comes from a combination of lightly-peated spirit, matured for seven years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, combined with spirit matured for seven years in first-fill Bourbon barrels. Just 4,800 bottles in total. A sweet, rounded, sumptuous whisky with a peerless depth of flavour.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Well-balanced between dried fruit and smoky oak, with a lingering hint of clove.
Taste
Cinnamon and more clove arrive first, mellowed by apple strudel and sherry-soaked raisins.
Finish
Cinder toffee, pear tart, a little hint of singed barley.
