Served in both boozy classics like the Negroni, the Martini and the simple and refreshing Gin and Tonic, gin can adapt to whatever flavour profile suits you best. Juniper is the original aromatic used to flavour gin. It’s the ingredient that is still used today (the spirit must include juniper to be considered a gin). Originally used medicinally during the 16th century, it took some time before it took on its leisure status. There are more gin based cocktails than any other spirit.
