Distilled from the famous agave plant, there seems to be no stopping tequila, or agave spirits in general for that matter, as consumers search for more premium offerings and look to broaden their drinking horizons to agave-based beverages.  Tequila is moving towards more of a sipping product than a mixed product. The five official classifications of tequila are: Blanco (silver tequila) and Gold tequila – the youngest varieties, and of the aged styles, Reposado (the least aging), Anejo (ages 1-3 years) and Extra Anejo (aged minimum 3 years)
